Pokémon Art Academy, a game that teaches users how to draw Pokémon, will launch in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on June 19 for 3,619 yen.
Pokémon Art Academy offers more than 40 tutorials on how to draw various Pokemon, according to a translation by Gematsu. It also allows users to free draw or create artwork based off more than 100 different Pokémon templates and share artwork with the Miiverse social network. Pokémon Art Academy will launch in Japan as a digital and retail release.
The software is based off the Art Academy franchise, a series of art training games for Nintendo handhelds, the latest of which launched in North America, Japan and Europe in 2012. A Wii U version launched in all three markets August 2013. The software allowed users to sketch on the Wii U’s GamePad using in-app colored pencils and pastels.
