Firefighters have contained a fast-moving grassfire that threatened properties near Redesdale in central Victoria.
Earlier tonight an emergency warning was issued for Lyal, Myrtle Creek, Pilchers Bridge and Redesdale, telling residents to take action to protect themselves.
The Country Fire Authority has since downgraded the warning to an advice alert.
The blaze broke-out at about 7pm Tuesday near Old Ford Road, with the fire travelling in a north westerly direction from Newnhams Lane towards Myrtle Creek.
The blaze was contained at about 9.30pm.
A State Control Centre spokesman said crews hit the fire hard to contain the blaze as quickly as possible, with 40 trucks and two aircraft attending at the fire’s peak.
He said some crews will remain on scene overnight, patrolling and mopping up.
